Self Adhesive Label UV Coating
Self Adhesive Label UV Coating
UV Coating mainly applicated in high gloss papers and other art paper surface coating for aiming at its nice gloss in looks, antiflouding, anti-dampening and presswork protection. According to different process, self adhesive labels contains sheet feeder uv coating and roll feeder uv coating. And roll to roll type is the most common used type in self adhesive label printing process.
Roll to roll type adhesive label is printed via Rotary printing machine, UV coating will be the last step after printing work, especially it is already be the ensential step for waterbased ink label printing. You should care below points during UV Coating process:
1. The quality of UV oil. There are many kinds of UV oil, and has requirement on its storage period and using environment. Hence need to check its color and drying condition after coating. And check whether it will match using with printing ink. Anyway, test before normal printing work.
2. Thickness of UV oil. Too much UV oil coating will lead to not dry enough, direct lead to the stickess after rewinding up.
3. UV oil stickness and Surface tension. Basing on different paper, UV oil need to adjust it into suitable viscosity. And still have to watch its paper surface tension after coating. Make sure UV coating surface tension less than ink layers tension.
4. Speed, coating quantity, pressure and dryer temperature.
5. Periodical checking UV drying device. UV lamps work efficiency will decrease with long time exposure work, one UV lamp normally can work 1000 hours. Check and replace the lamps after UV lamps work around 1000 hours.
