Process for Making Screen Printing Labels--Label Design
The whole process of screen printing for labels generally contains design, plate making, printing and post printing. Each step is closely related. The first step is label design.
The features of label design artwork as belowing:
1. Desgin labels basing on its final usage. Different liveware has different requirement toward papers like wine label, which adopts automatic labeling highly require its curing direction after coating totally the same as automatic labelling machine, otherwise, this work can not be done in production line. Also hollow out and inlay treatment should be considered during label design, especially for the silver or golden printing products, otherwise gold or silver ink will directly mix with other color for making dark effection.
2. Make up labels. How many labels should make into one artwork? This is very important and upon the artwork. Need to consider the post process easy or difficult. If the process work after printing is too much, the plate shouldn't make too large with many quantities labels. Because the workshop temperature, humidity is hard control which is easy leading to the paper shape changed, not only affect color registration but also bring troubles for later hot stamping and other process work.
For the unique labels, the label area normally not too big, but for the thin paper label which required die cutting, which is suitable for less quantity per plate. Otherwise, it will affect the die cutting qualtity.
When the printing quantity is not too much, better few quantity labels per plate, otherwise the printing area is over large, the die cutter making is high cost for increasing the die cutting cost.
Due to the limitation of label size, we adhere the principle of trying best to save teh printing paper for the ideal label making up.
