What's the difference between Flexo and Rotary printing machine
Many customer hard to choose which one is better cuz they don't know what's the difference between flexo printing machine and rotary printing machine for care labels printing. There is no difference between the two in terms of how the ink is applied to the substrate. They both use the flexographic process. The difference is in how the press is set up. Flexo label presses will have a single independent application unit with its own impression cylinder for each color of ink and a rotary press has one single impression cylinder. Another term that is used to describe "rotary" press is a central impression cylinder.
Flexo printing machine: use flexo plate, flexo ink, max.print width 150mm. High use cost. Flexiable cylinder and gears for different label size.
Rotary printing machine: use resin plate, offset ink, Max.print width 100mm. Low use cost, stable cylinder already installed on machine, always have wasted label.
