Custom Promotional T-Shirt Printing

A promotional t shirt for an advertising or marketing campaign can determine its success or failure. For this reason, it is essential that you have a lot of faith and trust in your garment printer. It is also important to understand the differences between printing techniques so that you can achieve the exact quality you require for your promotional t shirt printing order. Each printing technique produces a different result and style. Often printing techniques can be combined in order to fulfill certain bespoke printing needs or economize an order.

The most important factor to consider when determining which printing technique to use is knowing the quantity of personalized t shirts you require. This is due to the fact that if you have a small-run order, generally 25 garments or less, your order is probably better suited for Direct To Garment (DTG) digital printing. Larger-run orders, generally greater than 25 garments, are typically better suited for screen printing. With DTG digital printing, costs per garment remain more or less the same whether you require a one-off or 50 t shirts. With screen printing you can achieve economies of scale on large quantity orders, which is much more economical than DTG digital printing. Additionally, with screen printing, there are set up costs involved for each screen that must be produced to achieve your design. Remember that a separate screen must be created for each color in a design at a cost of approximately £20 per screen.

Another factor to consider is garment color. If you are trying to reduce the price of your custom t shirt printing order, realize that selecting white or lighter colored garments is the best way to achieve this. Lighter colored garments work well with screen printing and DTG digital printing. Many garment printing companies will not digitally print to dark garments because they do not possess the proper equipment. The better companies, which possess professional equipment, can in fact digitally print onto dark garments but it will be more expensive. The reason being is that when you digitally print onto a dark garment, an extra layer of white ink must first be applied before the design can be printed. Otherwise the quality of the print will not be achieved and the colors will appear dull and faded.

Bare in mind that different printing techniques will affect the texture of the final result in your t shirt printing order. Screen printing will produce the most durable and highest quality result and will feel hard to the touch. DTG digital printing provides very high quality multicolored designs, nearly just as durable as screen printing, and is virtually seamless to the touch. It really depends on your individual t shirt printing needs and requirements. Bespoke, custom printed promotional t shirts are an excellent way for marketing or advertising your business. Just remember to carefully consider the suggestions in this article! Know the quantity of t shirts you require, the colour of the garments, as well as the texture you are after and you will be well prepared for placing a t shirt printing order.
